High School Clubs
Student Government Association (SGA) Advisor: Mrs. Jones Meeting Time: 1st and 3rd Thursday from 3:45pm to 4:30pm Location: Mrs. Jones' room Students government Association's main goal is to create a positive atmosphere in and around the school to make EWA a place where students enjoy themselves and feel like they are part of the school. SGA gives students the opportunity to get involved and feel like they can make a opportunity. SGA also provides students with activities in and out of school, where the students have the opportunity to have fun while being leaders here at East Wake Academy.
National Honor Society (NHS) Advisor: Ms. Jackson Meeting Time: 1st and 3rd Tuesday at Lunch from 11:50am to 12:30pm Location: Ms. Jackson's room (Senior Academy) National Honor Society is a club for scholarly students who show affluence in the areas of scholarship , leadership, service, and charter. They must maintain a GPA of 3.5 during membership. They are also required to participate in a certain number of hours of service.
Science Club Advisor: Mrs. Broadwell and Mrs. Cockrell Meeting Time: 2nd and 4th Wednesday from 3:45 to 4:30pm Location: Mrs. Cockrell's room (Senior Academy) The Science Club will give students the opportunity to explore and experience science through participation in fun after-school events, field trips, competitive events and academic service learning (ASL) projects that benefit EWA and the local community. The Science Club will enhance knowledge and appreciation for physics, biology, chemistry, earth science, astronomy and anatomy and physiology.
Spanish Club Advisor: Mrs. Manning Meeting Time: 2nd and 4th Wednesday at Lunch from 11:50am to 12:30pm Location: Mrs. Manning's room (Senior Academy) We are a culture club dedicated to exploring the richness of Hispanic culture and sharing it with others.
EWA Singers Advisor: Mr. Canady Meeting Time: 1st and 3rd Monday from 3:45pm to 4:45pm Location: Mr. Canady's room (Freshman Academy) The EWA Singers is an 8th ~ 12th grade choral group. Our focus is to build a quality singing group to perform for school and community events.
Writer's Cafe' Advisor: Mrs. Coward Meeting Time: 2nd and 4th Friday at Lunch from 11:50pm to 12:30pm Location: Mrs. Coward's room (Freshman Academy) Writers Cafe' is an opportunity for aspiring writers and poets to share their creations with other students. It is also a chance for students who need assistance with writing projects to receive that help.
Golf Club Advisor: Mr. Atkinson Meeting Time: Every Wednesday from 4:00pm to 6:30pm Location: Zebulon Country Club The Golf club exists to support and encourage golfers to improve their golf game. Members must have their own golf clubs to participate. This club is open to Middle and High School Students (boys and girls). No cost involved.
