"The power of East Wake Academy is in the people, not the buildings," said Headmaster Brandon Smith, who is following the school's master plan laid out five years ago with the completion of a new 28,000-square-foot building. In the classroom, students at the K-12 charter school are growing too. EWA was recently named a School of Distinction when 84.5 percent of the school population met or exceeded academic growth goals.
