Art Students Place in Zebulon's

Festival on the Lawn

 

Congratulation to Senior Amanda Dean for wining the 1st place Prize in the High School Division with her Pointillism Bird done in Marker .

 

2nd Prize was awarded to Sophomore Bekah Morton and Junior Heather Kylie received Honorable Mention. Josefine Fueutes, 1st Grade placed 3rd in the Elementary Division. Students competed against other art students from schools in the area.

East Wake Academy Proudly Announces Two Teaching Fellows Scholars

   William Perry and Whitney Riggs of East Wake Academy Charter School are recipients of the 2011 NC Teaching Fellows scholarship.  This prestigious scholarship is awarded to 500 students across the state of North Carolina. Each student receives a $26,000 scholarship loan from the state, payable in $6,500 annual increments. The full loan is forgiven after the Fellow has completed four years of Teaching in North Carolina Public Schools. 

    William will attend the University of North Carolina at Asheville and Whitney will attend East Carolina University.

Caitlyn Peralta

   "Caitlyn Peralta is an eight grade student at East Wake Academy. Caitlyn was nominated by her teacher Mrs. Garrett for excelling in Social Studies. Caitlyn's best subject in social studies and her hobbies include basketball and soccer. Caitlyn is the daughter of German and Radel Peralta of Wendell. She has three siblings named Enrique, Zoe, and Marina. Congratulations Caitlyn for being chosen Kid of the Week."
