Our Headmaster

Headmaster Brandon Smith
Mr. Smith received his BA in English and his Masters of Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Prior to coming to East Wake Academy, Mr. Smith has spent the last 25 years in education. He has been a 7th grade Language Arts teacher, a teacher at the North Carolina School of Science and Math, an Assistant Principal at Enloe High School in Raleigh, and seven years as a Middle School Principal.

Mr. Smith first joined East Wake Academy nearly four years ago, and since then he has turned East Wake Academy into a school of excellence. He has brought to reality the dream of a state-of-the-art elementary building. Mr. Smith's support and vision for the athletics and arts has spawned the emergence of numerous clubs and extra curricular activities. Under his guidance we are insured of a bright and promising future here at East Wake Academy.

Interests

Outside of school, Mr. Smith enjoys spending time horseback riding and working with his church.

Our Headmaster Brandon Smith continues to seek the very best for our faculty, staff, students and parents. Mr. Smith's dedication and hard work proves not only his love for education, but his desire for East Wake Academy to be the absolute best! He proved his excellence in 2004 not only to the East Wake Academy family, but to many others across the state by receiving the Principal of the Year Award for Charter Schools. Congratulations again Mr. Smith.
