Good Morning Senior Academy Families!

Senior Academy Department News:

4th Quarter Expectations: Students, remember to keep checking your EWA email this week for EWA’s eLearning support.

Please contact your teacher if there are questions concerning your eLearning experience. Teachers and staff are here to patiently support our students and families throughout this challenging time.

Counselor’s Corner:Notes from Mrs. Naftel…

First and foremost, at this time, my hope for you and your family is that you are safe and that you take virtual learning one day at a time.  In our current circumstances we are seeing changes on a daily basis and if need arises for you and your family please communicate with us! We are happy to help and we are in this together!

NCVPS form for the 2020-2021 school year: If you have not had a chance to decide which online course to take, there is more time available!  Please know the new date is April 21 (Tuesday).  You can access the choices available at this webpage: https://ncvps.org/catalogs/ (classes are organized by subject area at the bottom of the page).

Rising 11th & 12th grade students: if you are interested in CCP but did not have a chance to attend Wake’s Info session and/or are interested in taking CCP courses online- I have options for you! Please email me at your earliest convenience so we can set up a virtual appointment to discuss these options.  snaftel@eastwakeacademy.org

Students Stay updated:

Congratulations: to Trevor Stafford on his acceptance to UNC Charlotte.

(Reminder Seniors, if you have been accepted to a College or University please forward your great news to Mrs. Ray.)

Seniors: We know there are many questions concerning 4thquarter academics, prom, graduation etc. Please see the email that went out last Wednesday, discussing several of these items. If you had problems receiving the email or did not receive the email, please let Mrs. Ray know. If you have any questions concerning the information, please direct them to Mr. Johnson.

EWA News:

Spring Picture Orders: High school families, you were sent your high school student’s code and directions on how to order your student’s Spring Picture’s online since we are not at school at this time. If you did not receive this notice of your HS student’s code please contact Mrs. Ray this week.

Celebrate:  We hope you saw our teachers on Twitter, Facebook and our APP reaching out and saying they missed our students.  We then reached out to celebrate our Seniors and we still need your photos to post for our Senior Class of 2020!

We need your help to Celebrate Our Local Superheroes!  This week we would like to show our appreciation of all the SUPERHEROES in our EWA community!  If you are an essential worker or know of one connected to our EWA family or in our local community- PLEASE tag them and let us know!  We would LOVE to see a picture of them in uniform or at work.  We truly appreciate all of those on the frontlines as we all work together to get through the COVID-19 pandemic.  If you follow us on Facebook, please comment on this post and give a SHOUTOUT to all the Superheroes in our community-feel free to mention them by name!  If you follow us on twitter please tweet @eastwakeacademy and show us pics of your local Superhero.  #weB4meEWA #weareallinthistogether

School Office Hours – Our school buildings are closed for students and the public, but school is still operating.  The main office will be manned Tuesday – Thursday from 9:00 – noon.  The best way to contact the school or admin is by email. We are also working in the building and remotely all week!

Reminder Families: APP and Website – If you have not downloaded the school APP, please do.  The APP is EWA in the palm of your hand.  Live Feed and News links are two great resources.  Take a look at all the messages from our teachers!  Also, from the staff list, you can email the teacher directly.

Your support and encouragement are imperative to the success of this new normal. Thank you so much for your patience and help as we continue to navigate this new territory.
