In Honor of Black History Month we will be highlighting different individuals that have made an impact in the community. Enjoy!
Caila Marsai Martin is an American actress, best known for her role as Diane Johnson on the ABC sitcom Black-ish. In 2019, Martin starred in the comedy film Little, which she also produced, becoming the youngest person ever to produce a studio film. The same year, Time magazine named her on its "Time 100 Next".
Jr Dance Ensemble Auditions will be held Tuesday, February 28th in the dance room from 3:45-5:30 PM. There will be an interest meeting Monday, February 13th in Spirit Hall during lunch. There you will receive your audition packet. This audition is open to rising 7th and 8th graders. All current 7th grade members must attend the interest meeting and re-audition for the 2023-2024 school year. For any questions please email Miss Ludlum at sludlum@eastwakeacadmey.org.
MASC will have a workday on Thursday 2/23 to practice speaking parts for the pep rally. Be sure to email Ms. Berry if you cannot attend.
Calling all current 8th graders! There will be an audition for the 2023-2024 high school Hip-Hop Team on Tuesday, April 20th from 3:30-4:30 PM. If you will be a freshman next year in high school, then you are eligible to audition. This team, starting in the next school year, will meet once a week after school and will perform at basketball games. For more information about this team or the audition, please email Mrs. Cyrus at lcyrus@eastwakeacademy.org.
FBLA will meet this Friday at 8am in spirit hall to discuss State Competition and plans for next year.
There is a PAL Dress Down Day tomorrow, Thursday February 23, 2023 for those who have a pass.
Lost and Found With the weather getting cooler students are wearing their winter apparel (jackets, gloves, hats, etc.) Please make sure you are putting students' names on all items and visiting our website https://ewalostandfound.weebly.com/ for missing items. This website is updated daily.
Drop and Pick Up No students are to be dropped off or picked up at building 5. Any student reported will receive disciplinary action.
Middle Academy Events
EWA Mudcats Educational Day will be on Wednesday, April 12, 2023.
We are so excited to be able to attend this event again this year!
What do I need to do as a parent?

There will be NO paper copies sent home. Every student must have a form filled out online - if you have more than one student at EWA, make sure you fill out this form for each student .
2. Please go to My School Bucks to make your payment. Please be sure to put all choices that apply in your cart before checking out.
* Tickets are $7.00 each
* Box Lunches are $7.00 each
* Parking is $4.00 and must be PREPAID. (You may pay once with oldest child)
Box lunches are optional. Concessions will be open, so you are free to purchase concessions at the game. Only 1 sealed Water Bottle will be allowed at the game.
You will not be able to bring in your own lunches. .
ALL FORMS AND PAYMENTS MUST BE RECEIVED BY MARCH 3.

EWA K-12 Field Trip/Educational Day: Our school spring field trip will be Wednesday, April 12th at the Mudcats Stadium in Zebulon, NC. All students K-12 will be attending an EWA Mudcats Educational Day! The consent form found at bit.ly/EWAMudcats2023 must be completed for each student by Friday, March 3rd. See attached flier for more details.
Middle Academy Sports Events
**When athletes have away games please initial the roster located outside of the Middle School entrance. Do NOT enter the Middle School office.**
When there is a home game, students need to be picked up during carpool and brought back to school for the game. Students may not linger after school.
Students are NOT to leave for sports while in transition to the next class. They may exit at the time of dismissal for that game day.
