Middle Academy Announcements
Calling all current 8th graders! There will be an audition for the 2023-2024 high school Hip-Hop Team on Tuesday, April 20th from 3:30-4:30 PM. If you will be a freshman next year in high school, then you are eligible to audition. This team, starting in the next school year, will meet once a week after school and will perform at the pep rally and dance concert. For more information about this team or the audition, please email Mrs. Cyrus at lcyrus@eastwakeacademy.org.
Spirit week is fast approaching and we want you to have time to plan. Here are the days for the week of March 6th -10th. Please be sure to review the entire letter sent home as it has DO's and DON'Ts that all students must follow. It also includes descriptions and examples of what day is. 5th-Purple , 6th-Blue, 7th-Pink, 8th-Red
Lost and Found Lost and found items will be donated if not claimed by March 9th. Lost and found is updated everyday on the website. https://ewalostandfound.weebly.com/
Drop and Pick Up No students are to be dropped off or picked up at building 5. Any student reported will receive disciplinary action.
Middle Academy Events
Middle School carpool does not begin until 3:15. If you arrive earlier you will be asked to go to the back of the line. Students are in class until their release time of 3:15.
Middle academy students will select their elective choices for the 2023-2024 school year next week. Please see the attached descriptions of next year's class offerings. We try to be sure that students participate in classes that they enjoy but know that students may not get their first choice. Please read over the class descriptions with your child so that they can rank their preferred choices.
EWA Mudcats Educational Day will be on Wednesday, April 12, 2023.
We are so excited to be able to attend this event again this year!
What do I need to do as a parent?

There will be NO paper copies sent home. Every student must have a form filled out online - if you have more than one student at EWA, make sure you fill out this form for each student .
2. Please go to My School Bucks to make your payment. Please be sure to put all choices that apply in your cart before checking out.
* Tickets are $7.00 each
* Box Lunches are $7.00 each
* Parking is $4.00 and must be PREPAID. (You may pay once with oldest child)
Box lunches are optional. Concessions will be open, so you are free to purchase concessions at the game. Only 1 sealed Water Bottle will be allowed at the game.
You will not be able to bring in your own lunches. .
ALL FORMS AND PAYMENTS MUST BE RECEIVED BY MARCH 3.

EWA K-12 Field Trip/Educational Day: Our school spring field trip will be Wednesday, April 12th at the Mudcats Stadium in Zebulon, NC. All students K-12 will be attending an EWA Mudcats Educational Day! The consent form found at bit.ly/EWAMudcats2023 must be completed for each student by Friday, March 3rd. See attached flier for more details.
Middle Academy Sports Events
**When athletes have away games please initial the roster located outside of the Middle School entrance. Do NOT enter the Middle School office.**
When there is a home game, students need to be picked up during carpool and brought back to school for the game. Students may not linger after school.
Students are NOT to leave for sports while in transition to the next class. They may exit at the time of dismissal for that game day.
