Middle Academy Announcement
6th, 7th, and 8th graders interested in trying out for cheer, there will be an interest meeting in Spirit Hall during lunch on Monday, October 14. Come to the meeting for important information. Please refrain from bringing heat ups.
All staff and students, October 16th is National Unity Day. Please wear your orange with uniform bottoms in support of National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month.
Lost and Found Lost and found will no longer be on a website. Students will have a designated spot in each building including the Gym and WINGS. Gym lost and found will be in a container in the dining hall. Building 5/WINGS lost items will be in a container at the desk by the front entrance. Items lost in the main building will be located in the container(s) right outside the office. Students can come down BEFORE SCHOOL/HOMEROOM or DURING LUNCH. All unclaimed items will be donated at the end of each month.
Drop and Pick Up
No students are to be dropped off or picked up at building 5. Any student reported will receive disciplinary action.
When arriving for AA pickup in the afternoons, please arrive @3:45 and stay in the right lane closest to the building ONLY.

MA Fall Spirit Week is coming up fast. Here are the spirit day themes.
Monday: 10/21 - Couch Potato or PJ Day
Tuesday: 10/22- Elementary Schooler Day
Wednesday: 10/23- Video Game / Character Day
Thursday: 10/24- Twin/Duo Day
Friday: 10/25- Color Wars: 8th- Pink, 7th- Blue, 6th-Red, 5th-Purple
The MA Fall Dance called "A Night of Floating Lights" will take place on Friday 11/01 from 6:00-8:30. All Middle Academy students are welcome to purchase tickets to attend.
Tickets will be sold on Tuesday, 10/29 and Wednesday, 10/30 during lunch. Tickets are $8 per student. Chick Fil A sandwiches can be pre-ordered for $5 each.
Tickets and sandwiches can also be purchased online. Online sales will close at midnight Wednesday 10/30. Dance tickets can also be purchased at the door for $10 the night of the dance.
Please do not drop off students on campus in the morning before carpool. If you need to drop off earlier than 7:40, please utilize the morning WINGS service.
Middle School carpool in the afternoon does not begin until 3:15. If you arrive earlier you will be asked to go to the back of the line. Students are in class until their release time of 3:15.
Students, during carpool you are to be seated in your classroom watching the screen for your carpool number to come up. Students are not to be in the hallways, standing up within the classroom, but waiting for your number to be displayed. Parents are not to arrive before 3:20. Students are to only be dismissed by your teacher to head to carpool when you both see your number come up. Any students seen at carpool without permission or prior to release time will face disciplinary action. Thank you for following the rules that have been in place for your safety.

Middle School Winter Sports Tryout Information
The information below gives the time, date and locations for each of the sports we field during the winter season. In order to try out, you must have a completed tryout packet and it should be turned in to Mrs. Moore (please double check and make sure all pages have been completed correctly). If you turned in a tryout packet for the Fall Sports season this year, please double check that your physical is up to date by emailing Coach Bowman. Expired physicals and pieces missing from the tryout packet will prevent you from being eligible to try out. Students will need to attend both days of tryouts and all paperwork will need to be turned in prior to the tryout date. If you are in need of a physical but your doctor can not schedule you before tryout dates we recommend you go to OrthoNC in Knightdale. They do walk in physicals for $10. If you need a tryout packet, they can be printed off of our website at ewaeagles.org. If you have any additional questions, please email Coach Bowman at bbowman@eastwakeacademy.org.

When athletes have away games please initial the roster located outside of the Middle School entrance. Do NOT enter the Middle School office unless checking out another student that is not playing sports.
When there is a home game, students need to be picked up during carpool and brought back to school for the game. Students may not linger after school.
Students are NOT to leave for sports while in transition to the next class. They may exit at the time of dismissal for that game day.
