Middle Academy Announcements
Middle Academy cheer tryouts will be on TODAY and Wednesday, November 5. Please meet in Mrs. Blackwell's room at 3:30. Tryouts will end at 5:15. You must have the cheer tryout packet and EWA athletic packet completed as well as an up to date physical to try out.
There will be a MASC Fall dance, Winter in Paris, this Friday 11/07 from 6:00-8:30. All students in grades 5-8 are permitted to attend. No outside guests are permitted. All students must be counted present for school on 11/07 in order to attend the dance.
Tickets will go on sale on 11/04 and 11/05 during lunch in Spirit Hall. Tickets cost $8 per student. Chickfil A sandwiches can be pre-ordered for $5.50 each as well. This can be paid for online via myschoolbucks as well. Please review the fall dance letter for more details in regards to dance dress code, carpool pickup, and dance concessions.
The 2025 Fall Dance Concert is November 13th at 7 PM at Louisburg College. Doors open at 6:30 and tickets are $5 for students, $10 for general admission, and free for staff. Cash only at the door. For questions, please contact Miss Ludlum
First Priority Club pictures are Wednesday, November 5th. This is for anyone who attends First Priority, not just leaders. 7th/8th grade picture will be at 12:45 PM and 5th/6th will be at 1 PM. Please email Miss Ludlum or Mrs Watt with any questions.
There will be a First Priority meeting on Wednesday for 5th graders who have permission to attend. This meeting will be in Mrs. Watt’s classroom in building 5. No heat ups please.
Lost and Found
Items lost in the main building will be located right outside the office. Students can come down BEFORE SCHOOL/HOMEROOM or DURING LUNCH. The gym lost and found will be in a container in the dining hall. Building 5/WINGS lost items will be in a container at the desk by the front entrance. All unclaimed items will be donated at the end of each month.
Drop and Pick Up
No students are to be dropped off or picked up at building 5. Any student reported will receive disciplinary action.
When arriving for AA pickup in the afternoons, please arrive @3:45 and stay in the right lane closest to the building ONLY.
If your student does not come out to carpool and you have looped around, please come in to the Dining Hall (back of the gym) to give them your student’s number and your student will meet you there.
Middle Academy Events
It is almost time for our "Annual Re-enrollment" for the 2026/2027 school year for CURRENT EWA students.
Infinite Campus calls this Online Registration Update and this is for the following 2026/2027 school year and it will start on November 10th at 8 am and end on November 21st at midnight. When putting in your students' grade, please put the next school year’s grade as this is for the 26/27 school year. Example, If Susie is currently in 1st grade - put 2nd grade for the Online Registration Update. If you do not complete the Online Registration Update, your student will not have a seat at EWA for the 26/27 school year and they will have to go back through the lottery.
If your student does not plan to return to EWA, please let Kim Campbell know kcampbell@eastwakeacademy.org.
Directions for Parents for the Online Registration Update:
1. Login into your infinite Campus Parent Portal
2. Home page - look on the right hand side at the bottom of shortcuts and you will see Online Registration Update or click MORE under the HOME tabs list, you will see Online Registration Update.
3. Click and begin the Online Registration Update for EACH student enrolled at EWA.
4 . It is not complete until you submit the Online Registration Update.

Please do not drop off students on campus in the morning before carpool. If you need to drop off earlier than 7:40, please utilize the morning WINGS service.
Middle School carpool in the afternoon does not begin until 3:15. If you arrive earlier you will be asked to go to the back of the line. Students are in class until their release time of 3:15.
Students, during carpool you are to be seated in your classroom watching the screen for your carpool number to come up. Students are not to be in the hallways, standing up within the classroom, but waiting for your number to be displayed. Parents are not to arrive before 3:20. Students are to only be dismissed by your teacher to head to carpool when you both see your number come up. Any students seen at carpool without permission or prior to release time will face disciplinary action. Thank you for following the rules that have been in place for your safety.
Middle Academy Sports
When athletes have away games please initial the roster located outside of the Middle School entrance. Do NOT enter the Middle School office unless checking out another student that is not playing sports.
When there is a home game, students need to be picked up during carpool and brought back to school for the game. Students may not linger after school.
Students are NOT to leave for sports while in transition to the next class. They may exit at the time of dismissal for that game day.
Middle School Basketball Tryouts
Middle School basketball tryouts will be held on Monday, November 3, and Tuesday, November 4.
Girls: 3:45–5:15 p.m. in the gym
Boys: 4:45–6:15 p.m. in the gym
Boys may stay after school in the dining hall with Coach T until their tryouts begin.
