Good Morning Senior Academy.

January Character Trait of the Month: Perseverance

This month, we’re focusing on perseverance—continuing to work hard, staying committed, and not giving up even when things are challenging. If you know a peer who demonstrates perseverance, scan one of the purple QR codes around school to nominate them today!  

CONGRATULATIONS:

Congratulations to DJ Venable on his acceptances to NC A&T and ECU, and to Ian Murillo on his acceptances to UNC Chapel Hill, ECU and William Peace with an $85,000 scholarship .

STUDENTS STAY UPDATED:

Per our Senior Academy handbook, schedule changes are limited to errors only (student failed a prerequisite, student failed a required course, insufficient credits, etc.). Therefore, no schedule changes will be made outside of this criteria. 

Afternoon Carpool Holding Locations Updated:

  • Freshman report to Eagle Hall

  • Juniors report to Mr. Harrington room #213

  • Sophomores and Seniors report to the Baker Center - But TODAY report to Mrs. McFadden rm

Spring Drivers Ed Class - Session #1: Mar. 16-20, 2026; Times: 2:30 pm – 8:30 pm – Virtual 

Registration opens on: 1/14/2026 at 1:30 pm

  • Seniors - we want to celebrate your achievements! Please remember to send Mrs. Ray and Ms. Shearin notifications of any college acceptance letters or scholarship offers you receive.Your accomplishments inspire our entire school community, and we'd love to recognize your hard work! Please let us know if we can put these acceptances in these announcements. 

YEARBOOK:

Attention high school parents and students: To assist the yearbook staff, they are looking for old elementary and middle school friend group shots of current high school students. If you have any of these photos, please send them to yearbook@eastwakeacademy.org or hand them to a yearbook staff member.

LOTTERY: It's almost time for our Lottery Applications to begin for the 2026/2027 school year. 

See information… .Lottery Application 2026/2027:

The lottery application is for SIBLINGS of current EWA students and prospective new students for the 2026/2027 school year.  Kindergartners will have to be 5 by August 31, 2026 to apply.

 

When:

The lottery application BEGINS on January 12, 2026 at 8 am and ENDS February 11, 2026 at noon. 

 

What you need:

The SCHOOLMINT link Schoolmint link (link will not be active until date and time above)

https://eastwakeacademy.schoolmint.com/login. The link is also posted on our webpage at eastwakeacademy.org  at the top of the Homepage or on the Admissions page.

Make an account:

Everyone will need to make an account, please click the link and follow the prompts to make an account when the Lottery application opens up.

 

The lottery application will automatically close on February 11th at noon.  If you do not submit your lottery application for the 26/27 school year by the deadline of February 11th at noon, you will not be included in the lottery on March 5th.   If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact Mrs. Campbell at kcampbell@eastwakeacademy.org.
