Senior Academy Announcements

Good morning, Senior Academy!

Wednesday, September 23

Parents who preordered school pictures - your student should receive their pictures this week!

Parents still need to order pictures? Strawbridge's NEW Code Lookup Tool is now available. Parents can simply scan the QR code and follow the directions to access their child's picture ordering gallery. No need to contact Customer Service for an access code! Student last name and Student ID number will be required for data security. Please check the school website under “Live Feed” for instructions!

The Cancer Awareness Club collected over $1000 in basket raffle tickets for our 3rd Annual Senior Scholarship. Our two lucky winners are...

KATE JONES and BRANDON NUCE! Congratulations to both winners! Thank you to everyone who supported our raffle. Stay tuned for details about our annual pickleball tournament in November.

Student Council needs your input for our Fall Spirit Week that will be from October 26 to October 30th. Around the school and in classrooms you will see QR Codes to scan. Please use them to vote and help let Student Council know your top 5 choices. Voting will be open until the end of the day Thursday, and your choices will be announced this Friday.

Please see Mrs. Emily Jones, Mr. Raynor, or any of your grade level officers and representatives if you have any questions or concerns.

Last call for items that remain in the lost and found.  Items are set up outside the office until Thursday afternoon. Anything left will be donated or thrown away.

SENIORS

Mrs. Ray needs your help to make the yearbook one to remember. Please send a baby photo, a casual photo, and your senior quote to yearbook@eastwakeacademy.org (NOT to Mrs. Ray!) as soon as possible.

  1. Baby photo - a photo of you as an infant or toddler, preferably by yourself.

  2. Casual photo - a casual photo of yourself from the past year. This photo should be of ONLY you, and should not be from a distance.

  3. Senior quote - Choose a quotation that represents you as a mature high school senior. Do not choose inside jokes or quotations with inappropriate verbiage. Your quotation may be denied.

DMV forms - Driver Eligibility Forms will not be available after tomorrow (September 24) at noon.  No forms will be given out over Track-Out.  Please make sure you email Mrs. Campbell (kcampbell@eastwakeacademy.org)  prior to the date if you are in need of this form for your student.  The student must have completed the driving portion before receiving the form and a parent has to come in and sign the form.

The Red Cross blood drive will be this Friday, September 25th.  If you are 16 or older, please consider donating.  You can go to the Red Cross website and search EWA to find our drive.  If you have more questions please see Mrs. Nettles.

If you are a Senior athlete, you may be eligible for the EWA Booster Scholarship.  If you're interested in applying, please complete this interest form.  After completing the form, an EWA Booster board member will share the application with you. If you have any questions, please reach out to Crystal Dixon (cdixon@eastwakeacademy.org).

Students - unless you have a work from home pass or are scheduled late arrival or early release - you must sign in or out at the office if you leave- even if you are a driver.

**Mrs. Harris also needs an email from a parent if you will be signing yourself out.  Her email address is aharris@eastwakeacademy.org

If you have a work from home pass, you do not need to sign in or out unless you are tardy to your next on-campus class.

Parents - when signing out your students at the end of the day, if you sign your child out before 2:30 pm, be aware that it will count as an unexcused absence for that class period (unless sick or with a doctor's note).

Quote of the Day:

Today’s quote comes from Rita Moreno, a Puerto Rican actress and singer who is best known for her numerous films, including the original adaptation of West Side Story. Rita once said,

“Siempre hay que poder levantarse, quitarse el polvo y seguir adelante”.”You always have to be able to get up, dust yourself off, and move forward.”
