Good morning, Senior Academy!
Thursday, September 24
Parents who preordered school pictures - your student should receive their pictures this week!
Parents still need to order pictures? Strawbridge's NEW Code Lookup Tool is now available. Parents can simply scan the QR code and follow the directions to access their child's picture ordering gallery. No need to contact Customer Service for an access code! Student last name and Student ID number will be required for data security. Please check the school website under “Live Feed” for instructions!
Remember that tomorrow is an early release day!
The College Fair is today! Please enjoy visiting with all of the representatives who have taken their time to be with us today. Remember to be respectful and ask questions that will help you make decisions about your future. Please also remember to be in full dress code with shirts tucked in.
This is a wonderful opportunity for us! Thank you to Mrs. Ray for organizing such a great event!
Student Council needs your input for our Fall Spirit Week that will be from October 26 to October 30th. Around the school and in classrooms you will see QR Codes to scan. Please use them to vote and help let Student Council know your top 5 choices. Voting will be open until the end of the day Thursday, and your choices will be announced this Friday.
Please see Mrs. Emily Jones, Mr. Raynor, or any of your grade level officers and representatives if you have any questions or concerns.

Baby photo - a photo of you as an infant or toddler, preferably by yourself.
Casual photo - a casual photo of yourself from the past year. This photo should be of ONLY you, and should not be from a distance.
Senior quote - Choose a quotation that represents you as a mature high school senior. Do not choose inside jokes or quotations with inappropriate verbiage. Your quotation may be denied.
The Red Cross blood drive will be this tomorrow, September 25th. If you are 16 or older, please consider donating. You can go to the Red Cross website and search EWA to find our drive. If you have more questions please see Mrs. Nettles.

After completing the form, an EWA Booster board member will share the application with you. If you have any questions, please reach out to Crystal Dixon (cdixon@eastwakeacademy.org).
Students - unless you have a work from home pass or are scheduled late arrival or early release - you must sign in or out at the office if you leave- even if you are a driver.
**Mrs. Harris also needs an email from a parent if you will be signing yourself out. Her email address is aharris@eastwakeacademy.org
If you have a work from home pass, you do not need to sign in or out unless you are tardy to your next on-campus class.
Parents - when signing out your students at the end of the day, if you sign your child out before 2:30 pm, be aware that it will count as an unexcused absence for that class period (unless sick or with a doctor's note).

Quote of the Day:
Today’s quote comes from Cesar Chavez, a leader in the Chicano Movement which sought to obtain farm worker rights for Mexican - American workers in the 60s and 70s. He once said: La preservación de la propia cultura no requiere desprecio o falta de respeto por otras culturas.”Preservation of one's own culture does not require contempt or disrespect for other cultures."
