Senior Academy Announcements

Good morning, Senior Academy!

Monday, October 19

Students, are you interested in being published? Take your chance by entering two mini-saga writing contests. See Mrs. Hall for more information.

First Priority Middle and High School clubs invite everyone to meet us at the flagpole to pray for our school, students, teachers, and community on Wednesday, October 28th, from 7:10-7:30 AM. "See You at the Pole" is for students, parents, and staff. For more information, please email Jill Massey.

This is a reminder that Sophomores will take the Pre-ACT on Wednesday.  It is an asynchronous learning day for all other grades.  Sophomores, please make sure to eat a healthy breakfast and arrive at school on time.

Important Upcoming Announcement: Re-Enrollment for 2027–2028

Mark Your Calendars! Re-Enrollment Opens November 2!

Re-enrollment for the 2027–2028 school year will take place November 2–13, with a firm deadline of midnight on November 13.

ALL current EWA students must complete re-enrollment to update their information and confirm their return for the next school year.

Parents - Driving Eligibility Certificate Eliminated for Permits

The NC General Assembly has eliminated the requirement for the Driving Eligibility Certificate (DEC) for teen drivers effective October 1, 2026, as outlined in SL2026-46. Students will no longer need DECs to obtain a driver's permit.

SENIORS

Mrs. Ray needs your help to make the yearbook one to remember. Please send a baby photo, a casual photo, and your senior quote to yearbook@eastwakeacademy.org (NOT to Mrs. Ray!) as soon as possible.

  1. Baby photo - a photo of you as an infant or toddler, preferably by yourself.

  2. Casual photo - a casual photo of yourself from the past year. This photo should be of ONLY you, and should not be from a distance.

  3. Senior quote - Choose a quotation that represents you as a mature high school senior. Do not choose inside jokes or quotations with inappropriate verbiage. Your quotation may be denied.

Students - unless you have a work from home pass or are scheduled late arrival or early release - you must sign in or out at the office if you leave- even if you are a driver.

**Mrs. Harris also needs an email from a parent if you will be signing yourself out.  Her email address is aharris@eastwakeacademy.org

If you have a work from home pass, you do not need to sign in or out unless you are tardy to your next on-campus class.

Parents - when signing out your students at the end of the day, if you sign your child out before 2:30 pm, be aware that it will count as an unexcused absence for that class period (unless sick or with a doctor's note).
