Middle Academy Announcements

When there is a home game, students need to be picked up during carpool and brought back to school for the game.  Students may not linger after school.

You can check our lost and found website at ewalostandfound.weebly.com

No students are to be dropped off or picked up at building 5. Any student reported will receive disciplinary action.

Students are NOT to leave for sports while in transition to the next class.  They may exit at the time of dismissal for that game day.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness, MASC would like to encourage MA students and staff to participate in a Pink Out on Friday 10/22. Wear your favorite pink shirt and pink accessories (shades, makeup, tights, wigs, socks, hats, jewelry, hair color) with your uniform bottoms to show your support! (*Please ensure hair color and makeup be done at home and not at school.)

Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15-October 15. Hispanic Heritage Month celebrates the culture and contributions of Americans tracing their roots to Spain, Mexico, Central America, South America and the Spanish-speaking nations of the Caribbean. As we close out the last few days of the official celebration, let's play some trivia. First person to come to Señora Jones in building 5 will win a small prize.

How many countries are celebrated and recognized during Hispanic Heritage Month?

Hispanic Heritage Month- Submitted by MASC

October is Hispanic Heritage month and we wanted to take a moment to share some famous and inspirational leaders from the Hispanic community.

Cesar Chavez was a Mexican-American labor worker and civil rights activist. He began working in the fields full time after dropping out of school in 8th grade. In 1952, Chavez became an organizer for the Community Service Organization (CSO), a Latino civil rights group, where he worked to fight racial and economic discrimination for migrant workers. In September 1965, the National Farm Workers Association, led by Chavez, launched a strike against California’s grape industry. This strike lasted 5 years, ending when the farmers reached an agreement with major grape growers to raise their pay and give them better work conditions.

Student Absences

If a student is absent due to a quarantine, they are marked present remotely. Initially on PowerSchool it will show unexcused but will be changed in the office within a week. Only the homeroom class will be adjusted. Please refrain from emailing Ms. Moore about the unexcused absence. If they are quarantined, it will be adjusted. Since students are marked present remotely, the following expectations are now in place effective 08/23/21.

Students in quarantine are expected to visit each classroom's Google Classroom for assignments for the day. Students are to complete the assignments posted by 11:59pm for full credit for the day. The only exception to this would be those who are physically ill to the point that they are unable to complete work. Parents must communicate with teachers if this is the case

We believe that by establishing this expectation students can stay on the course with their classrooms and not have so much makeup work to complete when they return to campus.
