A Message from the Superintendent 11/28/2021

Week of November 28, 2021:

Welcome BACK!  We hope you were able to enjoy the long Thanksgiving Break.  We have three weeks left in the quarter, and those 15 days are full of opportunities to learn and grow as individuals.  Please make sure you are looking at PowerSchool at your child’s grades.  High School parents – exams and EOCs are coming up.

As we head towards Christmas, please take time to help others and to support those in need.  COVID has impacted many families mentally and financially.  Many community organizations need our support.  If you can – please help others in any way you can with time, resources, or donations.

The W.H.O. has raised a new COVID 19 variant to a level of concern.  The Omicron variant was identified in South Africa and has now spread to other areas.  We have made a lot of progress to get by COVID 19 and the Delta variant.  We must continue to do what we can. We will be following updates closely.

GIVING TREE- EWA's Giving Tree is filled with items that some of our EWA families need help with this year.  If you want to participate, you can simply sign up to bring in an item(s) from the signup genius or make a donation online through the MySchoolBucks website.  We are asking that all items be returned to school unwrapped by December 9.  This will give us time to shop for purchased items and get them to our families before tracking out. All monies collected through MySchoolBucks will be used to purchase unpurchased items or additional needed items for the families.

STOCKING STUFFERS- We are collecting small items to be used to fill stockings.  Ideas of items we can use: toothpaste, toothbrush, matchbox cars, small toys or stuffed animals, brush, hair accessories, earbuds, soap, crayons, coloring books, etc..  We would need all donations by December 9.

Subject: Book Fair 2021!

Dear Parents and Families:

We are happy to announce our upcoming Scholastic Book Fair. This event is an opportunity for students of all ages to build their home libraries and further their love of reading. As always, all purchases benefit our school.

After missing out on many beloved traditions, our fall Book Fair will be a familiar, welcome, and safe event for our students. Here's what you need to know about the Fair, which will take place from Wednesday, December 1 through Friday, December 10. Due to Covid-19 the on-campus Book Fair will ONLY be open to Students. Elementary students will make a wish list during Specials to bring home for parents to see. If you wish for your child to purchase something from the book fair, you may send in cash or create an eWallet. Never fear parents, you may also shop online at our school's Virtual Book Fair. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Your online orders will also benefit our school.

Our Book Fair offers a cash-free payment option called eWallet. It's a convenient digital account that your child can use for shopping at our Fair. Grandparents, friends, and others can contribute, too! Visit our Book Fair homepage to learn more and get started with eWallet and online shopping.

Students love to bring all of their change from their piggy banks and dump it out. They will say how much do I have and what can I buy? Since Mrs. Barnhill will be running the fair by herself. She would appreciate it if parents would count the change and either put it in an eWallet or give dollars to your child.

We're excited to celebrate our love of books together at the Book Fair. We look forward to seeing your child there!

Sincerely,

Elizabeth Barnhill
