Week of February 27, 2022
As we turn the calendar to March, we have three weeks until Spring track out. It is so important to focus and finish the quarter strong. Please review your child's grades in PowerSchool and contact the teacher if you have questions!
We have two major activities coming up:
1. As you know, Wake County and the Town of Zebulon removed the mask mandate that had been in place since the fall. The lifting of the mandate allowed the board to meet and address our school masking mandate. On Monday, February 21, the board held a special meeting, removed the school from mask required, and moved to mask recommended. Each family now decides the choice to wear a mask. As we make this transition starting Monday, 2/28, it is important to remember that COVID is still in our community. If your child has any COVID symptoms, you must keep them at home. We will be sharing the updated COVID protocols via a separate email today.
2. We also would like to inform everyone that Mr. Wiggins will be retiring this month. He will be working up to our track out. Mr. Wiggins has been a fixture in our EWA community forever. Please be on the lookout for more information as we celebrate Mr. Wiggins the entire week of March 14 – 18.
MBB and WBB: We concluded a historic week for our basketball program. The women’s and men’s teams made it to the second round of the State Playoffs. We are so proud of what these teams accomplished this year!
Board Meeting: The March Board meeting with be Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at @7:30 pm. The meeting will be via ZOOM. The board will be discussing how to best open meetings moving forward and working with the administration to get volunteers back into classrooms.
Juniors / ACT: All Juniors will be taking the State mandated ACT on Tuesday. Please refer to the high school announcements for more details.
PAL Spirit Store: BIG NEWS!!! We have YOUTH size hoodies in stock!! They will go live on Tuesday, February 22!! We also have our monogram-style shirts back in stock!!
PAL USED UNIFORM: We need your help!! Remember, not only do your donations help the Used Uniform Sale, but it also helps our families who experience tragic events such as house fires, floods, etc. donate items don't sell on the market, consider donating them to us! We appreciated it!!
PAL CRAFT MARKET: Calling all families!! Do you or someone you know have a business that would be perfect for our Craft Market? PAL is putting together a Craft Market on Saturday, April 23, 2022, from 10-2 pm. All money collected from vendor sign-up will benefit our specials departments school-wide!
