Message from the Superintendent 5/22/2022

Week of May 22, 2022

We are headed into our last two weeks and we all need to finish the year strong. Our HS students will be completing State testing as needed, ES and MA will have a few makeups to complete. Many grades will be bringing back the traditional EOY parties and awards. Please follow the school calendar. Please continue to have conversations with your student about respect and care for others. This will truly need to be practiced over the next two weeks.

Library Books and other Classroom Materials: As you are closing out the school year, please take the time to go through your child’s room, book bag, etc., and see if they have any school items that need to be returned? Please send back any items found to your child’s teacher.

Meds – If your child receives medication at school from our health care team, please set a time to pick up any unused medications before the end of the day on June 6. You can email Sami Dove at sdove@eastwakeacademy.org  All meds left on campus after June 6 will be deposed of properly.

Used Uniforms etc. As you clean out – any used uniforms you have, please donate them to the school. Please drop them off at any HOUSE office.

May 30: No School – Memorial Day

June 3: Last Day of School – EARLY RELEASE – NO Wings!

The Athletic Boosters appreciate our families for the overwhelming support you provided to our Candy Man Fundraiser. The success of our athletic programs is tied to this support. The funds we have raised go directly to sports teams for uniforms and equipment. We also use the funds to help impact all students through the PE department. You were AWESOME!

CandyMan Pickup:

All items will be ready for pickup on Tuesday, May 24.  We need you to sign up for a pickup time: Click HERE for the link to sign up for a pickup time that works best for you.

Thank YOU again for your support of the PE/Sports Fundraiser!

COVID – we see more community cases, and they are showing up in school. We continue to work with DHHS. With testing and graduation coming over the next few weeks, doing the right thing for yourself and others is even more critical. If your child is having symptoms, please test them! Do not send a student to school if they are sick or presenting with symptoms. Remember that we do provide the test to stay program.
