EWA NEWS:
EWA Golf Tournament: The EWA Annual Golf Tournament is back and will be held on October 21st. More information will be sent soon. If you would like to participate or sponsor the event, please contact Candy Weatherspoon. cweatherspoon@eastwakeacademy.org.
Come out to the Back 2 School Bash on Friday, September 16th from 5-8 in the Middle/Elementary carpool area. This event is for all EWA families and admission is FREE. Food trucks will require money and PAL will have spirit store items for sale as well.
CLUBS:
Give the gift of warmth! Donate new or gently used coats of any size to the box just outside the front office. Please see Mrs. Broadwell or any First Priority Leader for questions. Our challenge is to collect 100 coats to donate to the Town of Zebulon Coat Drive! The Drive will last until Friday, September 23rd.
FBLA will meet at lunch Friday Sept 16 at lunch in Mrs Warren's room to discuss the Regional Competition.
Student Council will sell DONUTS on Friday, September 16th in the morning and during lunch while supplies last. Donuts will cost $10 for a dozen and $1 for individual donuts. Payment will be due at the time of order. If you pre ordered, donuts will be delivered to your first period teacher or picked up from Mr. Raynor on the 16th. Please bring exact change if you are using cash. Card payments will be also be accepted. If you have any other questions, please talk with Mr. Raynor or any of your Student Council.
Theatre Club will meet in room 211 on Tuesday, September 20, during lunch.
SPORTS:
“Congrats to the varsity girls golf team in their third place finish yesterday at Olde Liberty golf club. Addison Hurt finished 2nd in the conference at the match with a 47. The Eagles travel to South Granville Country Club next week.”

The EWA Booster Club is excited to announce DRESS DOWN DAY TODAY, September 15th. The funds raised by this DDD will go towards our first ever EWA Booster Club College Scholarship(s). Thank you to everyone who has participated!
*Please note, this DDD is for athletics and SEPARATE from the PAL dress down days. This DDD is NOT covered in the yearly pass.

Each day this week, Spanish club would like to celebrate people from the Spanish world and their contributions by highlighting various Influential and respected leaders from the Hispanic community.
Today’s quote comes from the Hispanic artist Frida Kahlo - who is best known for her self-portraits and depictions of Mexican culture and society through her art. Frida once said “Al final del día, podemos soportar mucho más de lo que pensamos” At the end of the day, we can endure much more than what we think we can.
