When does Mexico celebrate their Independence Day? (HINT: It’s not Cinco de Mayo, the 5th of May). Cinco de Mayo is a holiday some people celebrate in Mexico, but it is not their Independence Day. It commemorates a battle in the city of Puebla, Mexico in 1862. If you know when Mexico celebrates their Independence Day, come see Profe Jones, the Spanish teacher. I will give a treat to the five people who can answer the question.

Come out to the Back 2 School Bash on Friday, September 16th from 5-8 in the Middle/Elementary carpool area. This event is for all EWA families and admission is FREE. Food trucks will require money and PAL will have spirit store items for sale as well.

FBLA will meet next Wednesday Sept 21 at 8am in Spirit Hall - we will discuss the Regional Competition.  Please review the documents in the FBLA google classroom before the meeting.

Carpool Reminder: All students must be dropped off through morning carpool.  Parents cannot park and walk students up in the morning.  This is for the safety of all students and families.

Carpool Preparedness: Please ensure your student is ready to quickly exit the car in the mornings.  They should have their bookbags on and be ready to help speed up the process. Thanks for your help with this.

Tardies Your child is tardy if they are not seated in their homeroom by 8:15 am daily.  Even if the carpool line is still running, your child will be marked tardy if they do not arrive at their homeroom and be seated by 8:15 am.  Carpool begins at 7:35 each morning.  Again, we will allow students to be dropped off in the carpool line up until 8:15; however, if they are not in class by 8:15, they will be marked tardy.  Should your child arrive after 8:15, they must sign in with Ms. Moore at the front desk of middle academy.  EWA’s Middle Academy Tardy Policy is linked

When there is a home game, students need to be picked up during carpool and brought back to school for the game.  Students may not linger after school.

Students are NOT to leave for sports while in transition to the next class.  They may exit at the time of dismissal for that game day.
