Middle Academy Announcements
Our next First Priority meeting is tomorrow, Tuesday, October 18th, during lunch in the dance room. Please make sure you bring a lunch that does not require heating up. See you there!
The boys soccer team defeated TMSA Friday for the district championship! They have had an incredible season and fought hard all season to earn the Championship title! GO EAGLES!
Congratulations to the girls volleyball team on their standout season, they finished the season undefeated in conference play and took home the conference tournament trophy! Way to go girls!
There will be a COLE meeting in Mrs. Rusho’s room from 3:45 - 4:15 on Monday, October 17. Please see Mrs. Rusho for your COLE folder if you cannot make this meeting.
FBLA permission slips for the Regional Conference and Competition are due Wednesday Oct 12 to Mrs. Warren. If you are competing you will receive your study guides via email within the next week. The competition is scheduled for Saturday December 10 at Enloe High School. Our next meeting will be Friday Oct 21 at 8am in Spirit Hall.
There will NOT be a student council lunch meeting this Wednesday 10/19.
There will be a MASC workday on Thursday 10/20 from 3:45-5:15. Please plan to attend to work on the Pep Rally and the Dance decorations.
MA Spirit Week is October 24th - 28th. Here are the following days:
Monday: PJ Day
Tuesday: Character Day
Wednesday: Brain vs Brawn Day
Thursday: Beach Day
Friday: Color Wars- (*see your grade level color on the letter)
Please see the attached document (LINK) for DO's and DON'Ts as well as examples for each day. Read it carefully, so that you don't have to call home to change.
The MA Fall Dance, called "Night in an Enchanted Land" will take place on Thursday, November 10th from 6:00 to 8:30pm in the gym. Only EWA MA students may attend. Students must be present for school in order to attend the dance.
Dance tickets will be sold during lunch on November 1st and 2nd for $8.00.
Chick fil A sandwiches will also be available to pre-order for $5.00.
*Students can also pay at the door, the night of the dance, for $10.00
All concessions at the dance will remain $1.00 for various candy, soda, water, and gatorade.

Drop and Pick Up
No students are to be dropped off or picked up at building 5. Any student reported will receive disciplinary action.
Middle Academy Events
Carpool Reminder: All students must be dropped off through morning carpool. Parents cannot park and walk students up in the morning. This is for the safety of all students and families.
Carpool Preparedness: Please ensure your student is ready to quickly exit the car in the mornings. They should have their bookbags on and be ready to help speed up the process. Thanks for your help with this.
Tardies Your child is tardy if they are not seated in their homeroom by 8:15 am daily. Even if the carpool line is still running, your child will be marked tardy if they do not arrive at their homeroom and be seated by 8:15 am. Carpool begins at 7:35 each morning. Again, we will allow students to be dropped off in the carpool line up until 8:15; however, if they are not in class by 8:15, they will be marked tardy. Should your child arrive after 8:15, they must sign in with Ms. Moore at the front desk of middle academy. EWA’s Middle Academy Tardy Policy is linked.

Staff Vacancies We are currently seeking highly qualified and passionate teachers to fulfill our vacancies in our exceptional children’s department. We are looking for those with adapted or general curriculum qualifications. Middle Academy Sports Events
Attention all Winter Athletes, 6th-8th grade, who are interested in trying out for Middle School Cheer, Boys Basketball, and Girls Basketball. Please make sure you have a completed and up to date tryout packet ready by your tryout date below. The completed packet will be given to your coach on day one of tryouts. This must be submitted to attend. Visit our athletic website (goewaeagles.org) and click the files/link tab to find the full tryout packet.

**When athletes have away games please initial the roster located outside of the Middle School entrance. Do NOT enter the Middle School office.**
When there is a home game, students need to be picked up during carpool and brought back to school for the game. Students may not linger after school.
Students are NOT to leave for sports while in transition to the next class. They may exit at the time of dismissal for that game day.
