Middle Academy Announcements

High School First Priority is hosting a school wide food drive for the month of November. The Raleigh Dream Center is in need of grains and rice but will also accept canned foods, cereals, and pastas.  A box will be in the office to drop off your donated items. As Thanksgiving Day approaches let’s serve others in our community by providing them with a thanksgiving meal.

We will not have First Priority this week, but will resume next Tuesday, November 15th. We will send out details prior to the meeting. Have a great week!

EWA Athletic Boosters has a DRESS DOWN DAY this Wednesday, Nov 9th.  Please bring $4 on Wednesday morning in order to dress down.  As a reminder, this is NOT part of the yearly dress down pass.  Teachers won't be able to make change, so anything over $4 will be a donation to EWA athletics.   All money raised will go towards purchasing a new volleyball net system. Let’s go Eagles!!

High School Basketball Ticket News: As we kick off our first home basketball games of the year we wanted all students and spectators to be aware of the conference bylaw changes to ticket pricing. Spectators will be $6 and students will be $3. One purchased ticket does cover all games  happening on the night that the ticket is purchased.

MASC will have a lunch meeting on Wednesday 11/09 in spirit hall. All members should attend.

MASC will have a workday on Wednesday 11/09 from 3:45-5:15 in order to finish all work for the dance. Please email Ms. Berry if you are unable to attend.

The MA Fall Dance is "Night in an Enchanted Land" This will take place on Thursday, 11/10 from 6:00-8:30. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $10. Concessions will cost $1 per item for a variety of candy, chips, and drinks.

No parent chaperones are needed as teachers will be in attendance. Only EWA students may attend. You must be present for the school day in order to attend the dance. Dress code is semi-formal or casual, it is your choice.

We ask that parents be lined up in carpool to pick up students by 8:25. Students will be released into carpool at 8:30 to be picked up and teachers will direct carpool traffic like normal.

MASC will stay after school on Thursday 11/10 to set up for the dance from 3:45 to 5:00. members can remain on campus until the dance starts or they can leave to go home and return to campus at 6:00pm.

FBLA will not meet this month due to regional testing. Our next meeting will be Friday Dec 2 at 8am in Spirit Hall. If you are attending regionals - please check the google classroom for all information.  Mrs Warren will be reaching out to you individually to schedule time to test or work on your performance.  Yearbook pictures will be Wednesday Nov 16 at 8:30 in the dining hall.

Middle Academy Events

**Guardians and Parents: This is for RETURNING STUDENTS ONLY.  It is Re-enrollment time! Re-enrollment for the 2023 - 2024 school year begins November 7th at 8:00 am and ends November 18th at 12 noon. Every student that is enrolled at EWA will need to complete this process. Please do not wait until the deadline to start the process. Every parent should already have a Parent Portal account set up in PowerSchool. This is the only way to get into the Re-enrollment System. Sibling(s) not attending EWA can apply in January (more information to come).  If you do not have a parent account for PowerSchool (username and password), or if you cannot access your account, please get in touch with Mrs. Campbell TODAY! The best way to contact her is through email at kcampbell@eastwakeacademy.org. Again, the deadline for Re-enrollment is November 18th at noon. THERE WILL BE NO

EXCEPTIONS.  If you do not complete the re-enrollment by the deadline, you forfeit your students spot at EWA and will have to apply in January for the Lottery. If you know you will not be returning, please let Kim Campbell know (kcampbell@eastwakeacademy.org).

Carpool Reminder: All students must be dropped off through morning carpool.  Parents cannot park and walk students up in the morning.  This is for the safety of all students and families.

Carpool Preparedness: Please ensure your student is ready to quickly exit the car in the mornings.  They should have their bookbags on and be ready to help speed up the process. Thanks for your help with this.

Tardies Your child is tardy if they are not seated in their homeroom by 8:15 am daily.  Even if the carpool line is still running, your child will be marked tardy if they do not arrive at their homeroom and be seated by 8:15 am.  Carpool begins at 7:35 each morning.  Again, we will allow students to be dropped off in the carpool line up until 8:15; however, if they are not in class by 8:15, they will be marked tardy.  Should your child arrive after 8:15, they must sign in with Ms. Moore at the front desk of middle academy.  EWA’s Middle Academy Tardy Policy is linked.
