If you enjoyed PowerPuff, please plan to participate in the upcoming Volley-Bros tournament during February's Spirit Week. Guys will be playing volleyball for various cancer charities. Stay tuned for details to sign up. Start gathering your team of 6-8 players now. 

Parents + Students: Check out the EWA Student Services website to stay up to date on scholarships, community service opportunities and other important information you may need throughout the year.

Senior Yearbook “Recognition Ad”: Senior Families - if you are interested in creating an ad to recognize your senior in the 2024 year book, deadline is coming up soon, Please use this information to create one today. www.jostensyearbooks.com/ads, find our school (East Wake Academy), then click on "recognition ads"

Homecoming will be held on Friday, February 9th from 8pm until 12 in the Senior Academy. The theme for this year will be “Festival of Lights,” so dress to impress! Students are expected to dress in their

best.

Guests from outside of East Wake Academy are allowed, but must fill out a guest form and have prior approval. Guest forms should be submitted by Wednesday, February 7th at 4pm. Forms can be picked up at the Eagle Bulletin Board and submitted to Mr. Raynor.

The Homecoming Dress Code is as follows:

● All attendees should be dressed in semi-formal wear.

● Jeans are not allowed. Gentlemen should be in dress shirts and dress pants, ties and jackets are

optional.

● Dresses may be strapless or backless with straps, sleeved or sleeveless, or have spaghetti straps, one strap or halter strap. Dresses may NOT be both strapless and backless.

● Midriff exposure must be no more than 2 inches.

● Dresses AND slits in dresses cannot be shorter than fingertip length.

EWA NEWS: 

Lottery Application Begins January 8th: East Wake Academy's Lottery Application for the 2024 - 2025 school year will begin January 8th at 8 am and end on February 15th at noon. This applies to Siblings of current students and General Public.  Please go to www.eastwakeacademy.org and click on the Lottery Link on the Home page or the Admissions page. Lottery Application is online only.  Siblings go through the Lottery also and you must complete the Lottery Application to be included in the Lottery for the 2024 - 2025 school year.  The  Lottery will take place on March 6th at 9 am in the Eagle Hall Senior Academy.  You do not have to be present for the Lottery.  Once the Lottery is over, you will receive an email within 45 minutes of the lottery letting you know whether you got in and what the next steps are.  If waitlisted you will get an email letting you know what number you are and KEEP this email as you can check this for updates at any time.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Kim Campbell at kcampbell@eastwakeacademy.org.

CLUBS: 

Krispy Kreme Donuts will be sold by the Student Council today Friday, January 19th. Find a representative before school or at lunch to purchase while supplies last. All donuts are first come first serve and no pre orders will be taken.  * 1 donut for $2 or split a dozen with friends for $12. All proceeds go towards funds for your Homecoming Dance. See Mr. Raynor for any additional questions

Attention Book Club members, please come by Mrs. Jill Massey’s classroom to pick up a copy of your new book, Guests on Earth

FBLA will meet at lunch in Warren's room the last 3 Fridays in January to prepare for the FBLA state competition!  Jan 12, 19, & 26!  Please check google classroom and your email to review all information!  

First Priority meets every Thursday in the Baker Center during lunch. Anyone is welcome, and we would love to see you there!

Spring Sports tryouts are approaching quickly. If you have not tried out for a sport this year, you will need a tryout packet (click here for a link to the packet) and a completed up to date physical. If you have tried out for a sport, you will still need to make sure your physical is up to date. Please turn in any tryout packets or updated physicals to Coach Bowman.

Below is a list of tryout dates and locations:

2/14/24 - Varsity/JV Baseball - Pilot Lions Club Park - 4:30-6:00

2/14/24 - Varsity Softball - Pilot Lions Club Park - 4:00-5:30pm

2/14/24 - Varsity Women's Soccer - Knightdale Station Park -  4:00-5:30pm

2/14/24 - Varsity Men's Golf - Zebulon Country Club 4-5:30pm
