STUDENTS STAY UPDATED:
Rising 10th-12th Graders: The Shelton Challenge application is now open. The Shelton Challenge is a six-day residential program on NC State's campus and is built on the Shelton Leadership Center’s core values – integrity, diversity, social responsibility, and compassion – This opportunity is designed to help high school emerging leaders enhance their capacities to become values-based leaders. The application can be found here. Please reach out to Ms. Shearin with any questions. Applications are due TODAY February 15.
Coast Guard representative will be on campus at lunch on Feb 23, 2024
EWA is heading to the Mudcats game on April 24! This is going to be a great field trip to enjoy with our entire EWA community! The game will begin at 11:00 and tickets are $7 each. Parking is $4 and will be prepaid only. General concessions will be available for purchase that day, and there is also an option to order a box lunch for $9. Please complete the form at https://bit.ly/2024EWAMudcatsD... for each child who attends EWA, regardless of whether they are attending the field trip. More information about the trip is included in the form. Forms and payment at My School Bucks are due no later than Thursday, March 7.

EWA NEWS:
Lottery Application Begins January 8th: East Wake Academy's Lottery Application for the 2024 - 2025 school year will begin January 8th at 8 am and end on February 15th at noon. This applies to Siblings of current students and General Public. Please go to www.eastwakeacademy.org and click on the Lottery Link on the Home page or the Admissions page. Lottery Application is online only. Siblings go through the Lottery also and you must complete the Lottery Application to be included in the Lottery for the 2024 - 2025 school year. The Lottery will take place on March 6th at 9 am in the Eagle Hall Senior Academy. You do not have to be present for the Lottery. Once the Lottery is over, you will receive an email within 45 minutes of the lottery letting you know whether you got in and what the next steps are. If waitlisted you will get an email letting you know what number you are and KEEP this email as you can check this for updates at any time. CLUBS:
Attention Book Club: our February meeting will be at lunch in room 211 TODAY THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 15. Please bring your book, Guests on Earth, with you to the meeting.
Attention Juniors, the ACT will be on February 27th. To help prepare for it, after-school study sessions will occur every Wednesday (2/7, 2/14, and 2/21) in Ms. Nettles' room after school from 3:25-4:25, leading up to the test. There will also be a Google classroom with study materials that you may join. We look forward to seeing you there!
Mark your calendars - FBLA will meet Friday Feb 23 in Warren's room at lunch!
The Dance Ensemble auditions for next school year will be held after school on Monday, February 26th and Tuesday, February 27th from 3:30-4:30. Please see Mrs. Cyrus this week to pick up an audition packet and recommendation forms.
Today is the last school day to purchase your inspire event shirts. Tomorrow the order closes. We need 23 more shirts ordered! Represent and support EWA arts by purchasing an Inspire shirt, crewneck, or sweatshirt. You can wear them March 7th at school and for the event in the High School Building.
