Week of January 9, 2022:
We had a great start last week. COVID did raise its ugly head! We have seen an impact on staff, subs, and students. We will continue to work hard to make it work. We did have students sent to school last week who had symptoms and immediate family members at home sick with COVID. This scenario cannot happen! The majority of our families are doing what is right – we need 100% to commit to each other for this to work. Thanks to the families that are doing the right thing!
Just a few reminders:
- Teachers and students will continue investing time in resetting expectations and routines as they dig into the curriculum.
- COVID is real, and the Omicron variant is impacting our community. Our goal is to be in school – so this will be a massive group effort between our families, staff, and students. Do the right thing for yourself and others! If we all work together, we can make it through this wave.
- Carpool will take a few days to work out the kinks again! Please be patient and work with each other. Remind students what their carpool # is.
- We all need to be grateful for our great school for our students. We have great teachers, kids, and families – we are truly blessed.
- We already know of staff and students that will be out due to COVID exposure. This will impact our subs and classrooms. We will continue to work and manage the best we can. Our kids come FIRST!
SUB – This is another call for subs. As we open the new semester, we need more subs. If you are interested in subbing, please contact Belinda Lloyd at blloyd@eastwakeacademy.org
New Student Lottery Information:
This is a general email sent to everyone currently enrolled at EWA. Our re-enrollment process is complete, and everyone receiving this email has completed re-enrollment for the 2022 – 2023 school year. This email is for parents of EWA students that have siblings not currently enrolled in EWA at this time.
East Wake Academy's Lottery Application for the 2022 - 2023 school year will open on January 10, 2022, at 8:00 am and close on February 11, 2022, at noon. This applies to any SIBLINGS of current students and the General Public.
Please go to www.eastwakeacademy.org and click on the "Lottery Link" on the home page or the Admissions page (OPENS JANUARY 10, 2022). On March 9, 2022, the lottery will occur at 9:00 am in Eagle Hall in the High School. You will receive an email within 45 minutes of the lottery, letting you know whether you got in and what the next steps will be for you to complete. If waitlisted (not all SIBLINGS are guaranteed admission – you are guaranteed priority in the lottery. Admission is based on open space.), you will receive an email letting you know what number you are on the waitlist. Please KEEP this email, as you can check this for updates at any time.
