Good Morning Senior Academy

STUDENTS STAY UPDATED: 

Our next Boosters DRESS DOWN DAY is nextThursday, February 2nd.  Students planning to participate will DRESS DOWN and bring in $4.00 on the morning of 2/2/23. Students will give their $4.00 to their HOMEROOM teacher. Teachers will not be able to make change, so please send in exact change or know that anything above $4.00 will be a donation.  All money raised will go toward various athletic improvements, including additions to our weight room. 

*Please note, this DDD is for athletics and SEPARATE from the PAL dress down days. This DDD is NOT covered in the yearly pass.

Spirit Week is Coming! Please use the QR Codes around the school or the link posted in the announcement to choose your 5 favorite days for Spirit Week. Voting will end at the end of the day on Wednesday, February 1st. Selected days will be announced on Thursday, February 2nd.

Drivers Education Class Opening: EWA is hosting a Drivers Ed Class this Spring - March 13-17, 2023 Times: 7:30 am – 2 pm in Eagle Hall. Interested Students must be at least 14.5 years of age on or before the first day of class to be eligible to register for any class. SENIOR Scholarships: 

The Exceptional Children’s Assistance Center (ECAC) is proud to offer the Matthew C. Graziadei Achievement Scholarship Award to a North Carolina high school senior with a disability. This award includes a $1,500 scholarship, to be used for any post high school learning experience/training or for equipment/technology needed for employment. Applications will only be accepted through Wednesday, February 1, 2023.Please reach out to Mrs. Davis or Ms. Griswold for more details.


EWA NEWS: 

East Wake Academy’s Lottery Application Information:

This is a general message sent to everyone that is currently enrolled at EWA. Our re-enrollment process is complete. This message is for parents of EWA students that have siblings not currently enrolled in EWA at this time. 

East Wake Academy's Lottery Application for the 2023 - 2024 school year will open January 9, 2023, at 8:00 am and close on February 10, 2023, at noon. This applies to any SIBLINGS of current students and the General Public.  

Please go to www.eastwakeacademy.org and click on the "Lottery Link" on the home page or the Admissions page (OPENS JANUARY 9, 2023).  On March 8, 2023, the lottery will take place at 9:00 am in the Eagle Hall in the High School.  You will receive an email within 45 minutes of the lottery, letting you know whether you got in and what the next steps will be for you to complete.  If waitlisted (not all SIBLINGS are guaranteed admission – you are guaranteed priority in the lottery.  Admission is based on open space.), you will receive an email letting you know what number you are on the waitlist. Please KEEP this email as you can check this for updates at any time.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Kim Campbell at kcampbell@eastwakeacademy.org.


CLUBS:

The Unity Club will meet on Monday during lunch in the Baker Center.

Dance Ensemble Auditions will be held Thursday, February 16th after school from 3:15pm-5:30pm. All students planning to audition should attend the interest meeting on Wednesday, February 1st during lunch. During the meeting students will receive an audition packet that consists of teacher recommendation forms and audition details. If you're unable to attend the interest meeting please see Mrs. Cyrus for an audition packet. 

FBLA: Due to state competition planning - FBLA will meet the last 3 Fridays in January (Jan 13, 20, & 27) in Warren's room at lunch!!  

Clubs: if you have any news about Spring Semester events, please email Mrs. Ray and your Club Advisor so it can be shared out through Morning Announcements and EWA website’s Live News.


SPORTS:

"Baseball will be having workouts at Pilot Field this Saturday 1/28 from 1-3pm" (EWA will be having a JV and Varsity team this year)
