Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama is an American attorney and author who served as First Lady of the United States from 2009 to 2017 as the wife of former President Barack Obama. She was the first African-American woman to serve in this position.
EWA Mudcats Educational Day will be on Wednesday, April 12, 2023.
We are so excited to be able to attend this event again this year!
What do I need to do as a parent?

There will be NO paper copies sent home. Every student must have a form filled out online - if you have more than one student at EWA, make sure you fill out this form for each student .
2. Please go to My School Bucks to make your payment. Please be sure to put all choices that apply in your cart before checking out.
* Tickets are $7.00 each
* Box Lunches are $7.00 each
* Parking is $4.00 and must be PREPAID. (You may pay once with oldest child)
Box lunches are optional. Concessions will be open, so you are free to purchase concessions at the game. Only 1 sealed Water Bottle will be allowed at the game.
You will not be able to bring in your own lunches. .
ALL FORMS AND PAYMENTS MUST BE RECEIVED BY MARCH 3.

EWA K-12 Field Trip/Educational Day: Our school spring field trip will be Wednesday, April 12th at the Mudcats Stadium in Zebulon, NC. All students K-12 will be attending an EWA Mudcats Educational Day! The consent form found at bit.ly/EWAMudcats2023 must be completed for each student by Friday, March 3rd. See attached flier for more details.
Shout out to the MS Boys Basketball team for being the conference regular season champions and getting a first round in the playoffs. The MS Boys will be at home playing their first game Thursday (tomorrow) after school. Thanks for everyone’s support!
Our next First Priority meeting for 5th & 6th graders is next Tuesday, 2/14.
Jr Dance Ensemble Auditions will be held Tuesday, February 28th in the dance room from 3:45-5:30 PM. There will be an interest meeting Monday, February 13th in Spirit Hall during lunch. There you will receive your audition packet. This audition is open to rising 7th and 8th graders. Parent's Night Out: Parents with Valentine's Day coming up and landing on a Tuesday this year, you are invited to drop your kid(s) off for a fun night on campus. While the kids are having fun you can then take this chance to go out and celebrate Valentine's Day a little early. This is a paid event and being a PAL member gets you a discount! MASC will be selling candy grams for the upcoming Valentines Day. Students can pre order either a full size chocolate (Hershey) bar or a full size fruity candy (skittles/starburst) for $1.50 each. Pre-order a sweet treat for a friend and have it delivered on 2/14. Pre-order sales will happen during lunch on 2/07-2/10. 5th and 6th should go to Mrs. Strickland's room and 7th and 8th should go to Ms Berry’s room. Please email Ms Berry if you have questions.
MA Softball Interest Meeting - A MA Softball Interest Meeting will be held Friday, February 10th in Spirit Hall during lunch. Please remember to complete your Tryout Ticket prior to tryouts which will be held at Pilot Lions Field on February 16th and 17th from 4pm-5:30pm. All FBLA study guides were emailed last week - please begin studying for your state competition! We will meet THIS Friday Feb 10 at 7:50 in spirit hall to schedule testing for next week! If you have any questions - or did not receive your study guide information - please contact Mrs. Warren immediately!
Lost and Found With the weather getting cooler students are wearing their winter apparel (jackets, gloves, hats, etc) Please make sure you are putting students' names on all items and visiting our website https://ewalostandfound.weebly.com/ for missing items. This website is updated daily.
Drop and Pick Up No students are to be dropped off or picked up at building 5. Any student reported will receive disciplinary action.
Middle Academy Events
East Wake Academy’s Lottery Application Information: This is a general email sent to everyone that is currently enrolled at EWA. Our re-enrollment process is complete, and everyone that is receiving this email has completed re-enrollment for the 2022 – 2023 school year. This email is for parents of EWA students that have siblings not currently enrolled in EWA at this time.
East Wake Academy's Lottery Application for the 2023 - 2024 school year will open January 9, 2023, at 8:00 am and close on February 10, 2023, at noon. This applies to any SIBLINGS of current students and the General Public.
Please go to www.eastwakeacademy.org and click on the "Lottery Link" on the home page or the Admissions page (OPENS JANUARY 9, 2023). On March 8, 2023, the lottery will take place at 9:00 am in the Eagle Hall in the High School. You will receive an email within 45 minutes of the lottery, letting you know whether you got in and what the next steps will be for you to complete. If waitlisted (not all SIBLINGS are guaranteed admission – you are guaranteed priority in the lottery. Admission is based on open space.), you will receive an email letting you know what number you are on the waitlist. Please KEEP this email as you can check this for updates at any time. Middle Academy Sports Events
Spring Sport Tryouts will begin the week of February 13th. If you are trying out for a spring sport and you submitted a tryout ticket in the fall or winter through email, you will need to resend it so it can be updated in our system. If you submitted a paper copy, you will need to make sure your physical is up to date. Electronic copies can be sent to Coach Bowman, paper copies need to be handed into your Coach on tryout day. Email Coach Bowman if you have any questions.
Coed golf: February 16th and 17th 4:00-5:30 pm at Zebulon Country Club
Women's Soccer: February 16th and 17th 4:00-5:30 pm at Bailey Middlesex Park
Baseball: February 16th and 17th 4:00-5:30 pm at Pilot Lions Park
Softball: February 16th and 17th 4:00-5:30 pm at Pilot Lions Park
**When athletes have away games please initial the roster located outside of the Middle School entrance. Do NOT enter the Middle School office.**
When there is a home game, students need to be picked up during carpool and brought back to school for the game. Students may not linger after school.
Students are NOT to leave for sports while in transition to the next class. They may exit at the time of dismissal for that game day.
