EWA Families, I hope you are all enjoying the last few days of Track Out! We couldn't wait to share out some exciting news.....We exceeded our Boosterthon Fundraiser Goal!! Thank you so much for all the parents, grandparents, friends, neighbors, coworkers, extended family, etc. that helped make this possible. As a reminder all of these funds will go towards a new gym floor! As a reward for reaching this goal, all K-8 students will get a FREE DRESS DOWN DAY! (date TBD).

EWA Athletics Annual Golf Tournament is Thursday October 24th!!! They are looking for sponsors & players, so get a team together and join the fun while supporting the athletics program! For more information email sschumacher@eastwakeacademy.org

Unfortunately we did not receive the fall pictures/proofs before track out. However, if you have not already ordered you can do that at any time online at strawbridge.net. You will need your child's student ID number (this can be found in Powerschool if you don't know it).

Foods class is popping their way to track out! After finishing a unit on measurement students made their own popcorn seasonings!

The college fair today was great! Our students had the opportunity to engage with representatives from various colleges and gain valuable insights into the diverse programs available.

Last week, we held our fall National Honor Society induction, welcoming 27 new members. We were honored to have alumna Miss Hillary McCullough, '18, as our speaker at the event.

Tonight we have another FUN challenge for your students — Top class with the most new donation will get to turn the Booster Team into a Burrito and maybe even a teacher! Also.. ask your kids about Sunny D - he is definitely a celebrity at EWA!

National IT Professionals Day is celebrated on the third Tuesday of September each year. The day recognizes the vital role that IT professionals play in keeping networks and applications running, and in ensuring that operating systems run smoothly. This team works behind the scenes and parents probably have never seen them, but EWA could not survive without our IT Department and we appreciate them today and everyday!

Parents are welcome to join us on Friday for the Fun Run and Color Run! K2 visitors- please drop your student off in carpool as normal, exit campus and then come back after carpool is over at 8:15 to park This is a free dress down day for K-8. Students can wear (dress code approved) athletic wear and TENNIS SHOES! T-shirts will be handed out on Friday Fun Run K-2 8:30-9:00 3-4 9:00-9:45 Color Run 5-6 10:00-10:30 7-8 10:30-11:00

Thanks to EWA Board Member and Zebulon Fire Chief, Wayne Dupree for coming out today to talk to the 1st graders about fire safety, explain what a fireman does and show them his truck. This concluded their lesson on community helpers.

Our East Wake Academy Fun Run and Color Run kicks off today, and we are thrilled about this year’s program. Our school is raising funds for A New Gym Floor. JV and Varsity Volleyball both have HOME games tonight against Franklin Academy starting at 4:30. The EWA Cancer Awareness Club will also be selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a gift basket! All proceeds from the raffle will go towards the Cancer Awareness Scholarship that will be awarded to and EWA student at the end of the year. *see the flyer for more information.
