IMPORTANT NOTICE: DECEMBER 16, 2021, 8:15 pm
East Wake Academy has been made aware of a National TikTok Challenge by Zebulon PD and The Safe School’s Division at NCDPI. Both agencies do not find this challenge to be a creditable threat against any school in our area. As in the past, we try to be transparent and provide our parents with information about safety at school. ZPD will have an officer on campus at all schools in Zebulon.
We have been asked to share the following Facebook post from ZPD:
The Zebulon Police Department has been made aware of a National Tik Tok challenge circulating the internet and social media regarding violence on Friday, December 17th. Although there are no credible threats to Zebulon schools - you will see officers at all Zebulon locations in the morning. Parents, we encourage you to talk to your children about the type of information they are posting and sharing on their social media accounts. These types of incidents create anxiety for the student and parents. We request that you have these crucial conversations and encourage them to refrain from posting or sharing posts that incite violence or create fear in others. Anytime this type of activity occurs, law enforcement is notified, and we work diligently to alert the public and ensure that the safety of all involved is our top priority.
