Good afternoon EWA families. This afternoon EWA experienced a technical issue that impacted carpool. The numbers punched in were not all appearing on the board. We have our IT department looking into it and we thank those who showed grace and courtesy while we worked to maintain a safe environment for all. Have a great weekend.

Good afternoon EWA students, families and staff. This afternoon we had a medical issue with one of our HS students. Zebulon Fire Department arrived and assisted paramedics in administering aid to the student. The student was stable and seemed in good spirits. We appreciate the quick response time from the ZFD and the care they gave to our student.

Good evening EWA students, families and staff. Tomorrow EWA will be closed and students will use asynchronous remote learning. All school related activities are canceled for tomorrow. Please accept my apologies for the changing status. While the weather is not calling for additional precipitation, many roads are still unsafe. Stay safe and warm.

Good afternoon EWA students, families and staff. With the inclement weather predicted for tomorrow January 22nd, EWA will close our buildings and use the Remote Asynchronous Learning Method. As a reminder from Friday's Letter from the Executive Director: What is Remote Asynchronous Learning? This method allows students to engage with course materials online via Google Classroom at their own pace. Assignments will be provided with a clear timeline for completion, enabling flexibility while maintaining accountability. Please note that all attendance will be based on the completion of assignments. All extracurricular events are canceled for tomorrow. Stay safe and warm!!

Ms. Pridgen’s 1st grade class have been classifying rocks this last week. They were able to examine sedimentary “rocks”. The students were able to disassemble the rocks and then eat the sediments. 🍪

Good afternoon families. This afternoon a small fire occurred outside our HS IT room. It was extinguished quickly and we had no injuries. The Zebulon Fire Department came, assessed the situation and approved the return to our normal schedule. I would like to thank the Zebulon Fire Department for their fast response, and our students and staff for implementing our safety plan so effectively.

The information below was copied from Mr. Pirrello's weekly letter to parents and contains important information about how EWA will operate in the event of inclement weather. Please make sure you read this carefully so that will and your family will be prepared. Dear EWA Families, As we approach the potential for wintry weather in our area, we want to ensure clarity on our remote learning methods to avoid losing valuable instructional days. In the event of school closures, we will most likely use the Remote Asynchronous Learning method. This decision will be communicated by the administration if closures become necessary. What is Remote Asynchronous Learning? This method allows students to engage with course materials online via Google Classroom at their own pace. Assignments will be provided with a clear timeline for completion, enabling flexibility while maintaining accountability. What is Remote Synchronous Learning? This method involves live, real-time interaction between students and instructors via a web-conferencing tool (Zoom, Google Meet etc.). While effective, this method is unlikely to be used during weather-related closures. In some cases, teachers may send home a packet of lessons with students to be completed and returned. Please note that all attendance will be based on the completion of assignments. Once a decision regarding the learning method is made and announced by email communication, you will receive further instructions from your child's teacher. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we prioritize both safety and academic progress during potential weather disruptions.
